The Wedding
The day of the wedding was cloudy but warm to start but once the afternoon came it turned to hazy sunshine, just the weather Zoe had been hoping for. The guests started to arrive around 1:15pm in plenty of time for the ceremony at 2:00pm. The colour scheme of the day was brown, cream and burnt orange. All 11 groomsmen wore brown morning suites and looking very smart and finished off with a Calla Lilly buttonhole in burnt orange. The bridesmaids all wore knee length beige satin dresses complimented with ivory rose bouquets.
The ceremony room was beautifully decorated and complimented with burnt orange and ivory roses together with calla lilies as the main flower display, with every chair covered and complimented with a brown chiffon sash. The Balmoral suite where the wedding breakfast would take place was stylishly decorated with tall vases complimented with a flower arrangement. The tables were named after places in New York where Tom had proposed to Zoe back in December 2008. Zoe wore “Izzy” a princess style dress by wedding dress designer Hollywood Dreams in champagne with a fitted corseted bodice with beading to the front and back. She looked absolutely stunning in such a beautiful dress. Zoe's bouquet was made of burnt orange and cream roses and calla lilies complimented with some greenery. Zoe had chosen to walk up the aisle to Snow Patrol's “Chasing Cars” which was played by a saxophonist.
After photos in the gardens it was time for the wedding breakfast, speeches and the cutting of the cake. Zoe and Tom's wedding cake was a 3 tier chocolate cake decorated with burnt orange calla lilies. The evening reception got started with singer/rat pack crooner Tony Mitchell who entertained the guests for an hour singing a variety of swing and modern music. Soon it would be time for the first dance where Zoe and Tom were to take the dance floor as husband and wife for the first time. The reception was great fun and organised by Ramada's wedding host Tim. He certainly made the party a lively but fun one by getting friends and family to participate in the barn dance, bouquet throwing and Mexican waves.
